Participation in professional organisations

Fund for small business credit assistance of Moscow was accepted as a member of European Association of Mutual Guarantee Societies.

On 7-th of June 2012 in Bucharest (Romania) on the 20th anniversary assembly of European Association of Mutual Guarantee Societies (AECM) Fund for small business credit assistance of Moscow became a member of AECM. The fact of the adoption of the Fund in the AECM is a confirmation of compliance with European standards.

The representative of the General Assembly acted on the congress with a report and presentation on the status of small and medium-sized businesses in Russia and of Fund for small business credit assistance of Moscow. Statement by the representative of the Fund has caused great interest among members of the General Assembly.

European Association of Mutual Guarantee Societies (AECM) was founded in 1992 as a professional organisation of guarantee organisation of European countries. At the moment AECM has 37 member organisations operating in 20 EU countries, Montenegro and Turkey. Its members are mutual, private sector guarantee schemes as well as public institutions, which are either guarantee funds or Development banks with a guarantee division. They all have in common the mission of providing loan guarantees for SME who have an economically sound project but cannot provide sufficient bankable collateral. In 2010, AECM member organisations had a total guarantee volume in portfolio of € 71 billion and issued a total of € 31 billion in new guarantees.

AECM represents the political interest of its member organisations both towards the European Institutions, such as the European Commission, the European Parliament and Council, as well as towards other, multilateral bodies, among which the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Investment Fund (EIF), the Bank for International Settlement (BIS), the World Bank, etc.

AECM serves as platform for exchange of best practices on a variety of operational issues. For this purpose, AECM has set up working groups and organises annual seminars, operational training sessions as well as specific ad-hoc events on selected issues.

AECM undertakes surveys on the guarantee sector, provides relevant technical information, statistics, newsletters as well as other publications to promote the guarantee instrument. It takes part a sector representative in events both in Europe as well as beyond.
